KUALA LUMPUR: It will take three to six months to repair the sinkhole in Jalan Masjid India.
KL Mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif said this, adding that during this period, those in the area should adhere to the authorities' instructions.
"For everyone's safety, do not trespass (on the sinkhole site)," she said when contacted.
Earlier today, Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizme Affendy Sulaiman said discussions with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) on repairing the sinkhole were ongoing.
Yesterday, the authorities called off the search and rescue operation to locate a woman who fell into the sinkhole last Friday due to safety concerns.
The authorities had been looking for Vijaya Lakshmi, 48, after the Indian national fell into the sinkhole on Aug 23 while walking in the area.
