Father, daughter walk 6km daily to school, inspiring act of generosity

KUALA LUMPUR: A Standard Six girl named Izara and her father walk 6km to school daily, reflecting their dedication and resilience despite their challenges.

They are sometimes given a ride by villagers who happen to cross paths with them on their way to school.

Abbe Hae in a video he posted on Facebook said Izara's school is further away than her sister's, who is in Form 2.

The secondary school is 1.5km from their home, while Izara's is 3km away.

"Their father used to take them to school on a motorcycle, but it is now broken, and financial issues prevent it from being repaired," he said.

Abbe said he was particularly impressed by the father's responsibility and commitment to ensuring his child walks to school so she doesn't fall behind in her studies.

"Izara, is a dedicated student who immediately reviews her lessons as soon as she returns home, and recognising her commitment to education, beginning October this year Abbe will award her a monthly scholarship," he said.

Abbe said he has also requested assistance from informers to repair Izara's father's motorcycle so they won't have to walk to school anymore, covering all costs, also wishing Izara success and thanking Jep, the village imam, and residents for their support.

This post has led netizens to express their support for Abbe and their admiration for Izara and her father.
