Bob's Burger in iShowSpeed gets mopped up in City Hall op

KUALA LUMPUR: A burger stall here known as Bob's Burger, became famous after being featured by American streamer iShowSpeed recently, has been shut down by City Hall (DBKL) following public complaints.

The stall was among many that were seized by DBKL in an operation on Wednesday after public complaints of obstructions and littering around Jalan Bangsar Utama.

"Following these complaints, DBKL conducted an investigation and found obstacles and abandoned items at the reported area.

"The DBKL Enforcement Department issued seven enforcement notices, instructing traders to remove, relocate activities and vacate the premises within three days of the notice's issuance.

"Despite the enforcement notices, the traders continued to defy the order and left their business items in public areas or pathways," DBKL said on Facebook.

It said the special operation was conducted by the Enforcement Department and the Lembah Pantai branch office to remove the obstacles, including chairs and tables.

"DBKL carried out five seizures under the provisions of Section 46(1)(d) of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974, where among the items seized were canopies, stainless steel stalls, chairs, plastic tables and other equipment.

"The confiscated items and equipment were sent to DBKL's storage facility in Cheras for documentation and further action," it said.

DBKL also said continuous action and monitoring would be carried out through a series of special operations across 11 parliamentary constituencies within the capital.

Meanwhile, in a TikTok video, Bob's Burger announced that it had to cease operations temporarily and promised to provide updates of its plans through WhatsApp.
