Pahang latest to declare GISBH as deviant [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Pahang has become the latest state to declare Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH), along with its followers and employees as deviant.

This comes after Pahang ruler, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to the fatwa by the state's Syarak Consultative Committee.

On Thursday, Selangor declared GISBH as deviant. In September, Perlis declared the scandal-hit company as deviant.

GISBH is the subject of a police probe involving allegations of abuse and sexual abuse among others, a claim the company has denied.

The company's leaders and members are also being probed for Syariah offences.

Pahang Mufti, Datuk Asmadi Mohamed Naim said those who continued to believe and practice the Aurad Muhammadiah brought by the Al-Arqam group were deviant.

The ban on Aurad Muhammadiah has been gazetted since 1994.

Asmadi said the fatwa on GISBH also covers those who believe that the late Al-Arqam leader Ashaari Muhammad did not die in 2010 but "disappeared".

He called on the authorities, including the police, the Welfare Department and state religious agencies, to work together to rehabilitate and monitor GISBH followers.
