BALING: A section of an alternative road linking Ulu Legong and Tanjung Pari here has been closed to all traffic due to a landslide.
It is understood that the road has been closed since afternoon today following the incident.
However, it is learnt that the stretch's closure does not affect the local residents' movement as the main trunk road connecting Ulu Legong and Tanjung Pari is not affected.
Checks showed that road-closure signs had been placed at the affected location.
The landslide occurred on the road shoulder, with visible signs of major crack on one side of the road.
Baling has been ravaged by continuous heavy rainfall since yesterday, forcing over 600 people from three sub-districts to be evacuated to nine temporary flood relief centres.
