KUALA LUMPUR: Fire and Rescue Department personnel were deployed following fast-rising flood waters at Ukay Perdana and Jalan Hulu Klang Batu 8 today.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, they received a call at around 10.28am.
"We immediately sent six firemen a fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services vehicle to the scene from the Ampang Fire Station.
"The operations commander there said flood waters there were waist deep involving four houses and a kindergarten," he said when contacted.
He said all occupants of the affected houses were ordered to evacuate.
"They also helped to bring the 21 kindergarten students to safer ground.
"Meanwhile, the Pandan Indah Fire Station was notified of floods at Ukay Perdana," he said adding that the river water nearby had risen and inundated a housing area there.
