LANGKAWI: A group of 30 Harley-Davidson riders have embarked on a 1,000-kilometre convoy to promote the Visit Kedah Year 2025 (VK 2025).
The convoy, organised by the White Eagle Motor Club (WEMC) in collaboration with the Langkawi District and Land Office, will travel to Port Dickson before returning over a span of six days.
The flag-off ceremony was officiated by Langkawi District and Land Office assistant district officer (Development), Zulkifli Abdullah, at the Tanjung Lembung Dock here today (Oct 16).
WEMC president Hasmizan Hassan said the convoy is part of the club's ninth-anniversary celebration while also aiming to promote the VK 2025 campaign, set to kick off in January.
"We are boarding a ferry to Kuala Perlis, then making stops in Perlis, Penang, Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan, before returning to Langkawi within five days.
"Throughout the journey, we will promote VK 2025 to motorcycle club members in other states, inviting them to visit Kedah next year," he said when met here today (Oct 16).
He added that to extend the promotional reach, they are distributing brochures on Kedah's tourism products to the public they encounter along the way.
"All participants, who own various types of Harley-Davidson motorcycles on the island, also plan to hold a charity programme with students at a tahfiz centre in Perak," he said.
