KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 3,722 vehicles comprising Perodua Alza and Perodua Aruz cars as well as Honda CB350RS motorcycles nationwide will be recalled to address issues ranging from speed sensors to headlights.
The Road Transport Department (RTD) said the recall directive involved the Perodua Alza - 1500 X (CVT); Alza - 1500 H (CVT); Alza - 1500 AV (CVT) as well as the Perodua Aruz - 1500 X and Aruz - 1500 AV models.
RTD director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said the affected Perodua Alza and Aruz models are being recalled as the main headlights did not meet height specifications.
He said 2,518 Alza cars and 1,139 Aruz cars would be affected by the recall.
Meanwhile, 65 Honda CB350RS motorcycles would be recalled to address speed sensor problems which lead to incorrect speedometer readings and as well as ABS and traction control issues.
All the affected vehicles, he said, were manufactured in 2024.
"All vehicle owners will be contacted by either Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd or Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd to schedule the inspection process. Vehicle owners can also visit the nearest service centre nationwide," he said in a statement.
Aedy Fadly said Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd would bear any component replacement costs.
"We ask all vehicle owners to make preparations for the recall and inspection process as soon as possible.
"They can also contact the nearest Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd or Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd outlet for further information on the recall process," he said.
Perodua owners can contact 1-800-88-6600 or log in to https://www.ufirst.com.my/member/login as well as access the U-First application.
