Influencer files police report after being accused of serving bad laksa

LANGKAWI: A social media influencer filed a police report today to defend his reputation and business after facing negative comments online.

Syed Muhammad Shah Hasif, 32, also known as Prince Syed, submitted the report at the Langkawi police headquarters at 5.40am.

Langkawi's deputy police chief Superintendent Samsulmuddin Sulaiman, confirmed that the report was received.

"The purpose of the report is to refute the accusations and allegations against him and his business. The complainant is also dissatisfied with the offensive language directed at him.

"This report aims to clear both his name and that of his business from online criticism," he said.

Negative comments had circulated online, claiming that the laksa sold by the influencer was inferior in taste compared to offerings from local vendors in Langkawi.

The original post, which garnered hundreds of responses from netizens, has since been deleted.

In a video shared on his Facebook account, Muhammad explained that the report was filed to clarify the situation surrounding the allegations about his business.

"We apologise to the residents of Langkawi for our presence. To everyone who posted videos and mentioned our names without knowing the full story, we would appreciate the opportunity to meet and discuss what really happened," he said.

"I hope we can resolve this matter and move forward. We will be leaving the area soon, so please don't worry. Thank you for allowing us to do business in Langkawi."
