AMPANG: Another landslide has occurred, this time at Lembah Maju, Pandan Indah.
Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said the district police control centre was notified about the incident at around 4.35am today.
"We received information that a landslide occurred along Jalan Maju 1/14 Lembah Maju, Pandan Indah.
"Police personnel, Fire and Rescue Department at Ampang Jaya Municipal Council personnel responded to the incident," he said in a statement.
He said initial investigations revealed the affected area is a public carpark next to a large drain.
"A Proton Saga car that was parked there had fallen down the collapsed slope in the incident.
"The owner of the vehicle has been informed and no casualties have been reported," he said
Mohd Azam said they were now waiting on further analysis from the slope experts before attempting to move the affected vehicle.
Continuous heavy rains on the morning of Oct 15 led to a landslide along Jalan E6 in Taman Melawati.
A size-up of the affected area found that a 20-metre by 20-metre slope had collapsed from a height of 30 metres.
Several videos and images of the landslide have since been circulated on social media and WhatsApp.
Following the landslide, occupants of 20 houses were ordered to evacuate.
The area is one of 114 landslide-prone hotspots in Ampang Jaya.
