KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd shares on Bursa Malaysia went up in early trade today as investors reacted positively to the secured data centre deal in Cyberjaya.
At 10.11am, the engineering, property, and infrastructure company's shares rose by 16 sen to RM8.64, with 1.80 million shares changing hands.
In a recent filing with Bursa Malaysia, Gamuda said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, has secured a contract worth RM451.4 million from BCEI Malaysia Sdn Bhd to build a data centre in Cyberjaya.
It said the scope of work, which includes foundation, civil, structural, and architectural (FCSA) works, will start in the fourth quarter of 2024 (4Q 2024) and is slated for completion in 1Q 2026.
The company noted that the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's revenue and earnings for the financial year ending July 31, 2025, until the completion of the FCSA works.
