KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has clarified that it has never made any statements regarding the discovery of RM94 million at the residence of a former minister.
In a statement today, the commission said that it did not make the claims referenced by the Pendang member of parliament during a recent parliamentary session.
"While the MACC respects the rights of members of Parliament to express their views, it is essential that their statements are based on accurate information to prevent confusion.
"The MACC reiterates that neither the Commission nor its Chief Commissioner has made any statements regarding the alleged discovery of this amount at the former minister's home," the statement read.
Pendang MP Datuk Awang Solahuddin Hashim had addressed the Khazanah and FashionValet issues during the session, suggesting that halting operations and offering apologies was too easy, especially when significant funds were involved.
He then referred to a case involving RM94 million discovered at the residence of a party leader, saying that there had been no updates on the investigation to date.
