Two security guards nabbed in connection with missing bag with RM1mil

AMPANG: Two security guards have been arrested to assist in the investigation of a bag with RM1.07 million cash that went missing yesterday.

According to Ampang Jaya police chief, ACP Mohd Azam Ismail, the arrested are a man and a woman, aged 52 and 38 respectively.

Both tested negative for drugs and had no prior criminal records, Azam said.

The suspects are under a four-day remand from Nov 7 until 10.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.

Public cooperation is vital in such cases, Azam said, as the swift reporting by a citizen led to the bag's recovery earlier today.

Previously, it was reported that the bag, which fell out of a security van near Ampang Point, was recovered by a motorist and handed over to the police.

The bag of cash went missing yesterday evening after being collected from a bank in Ampang Point.
