Prasarana launches MyTourist Pass for KL visitors

KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, through RapidKL, today launched the MyTourist Pass ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

The pass offers tourists public transport access in the federal capital, supporting the goal of attracting 26.1 million foreign visitors by next year.

Besides unlimited travel, MyTourist Pass holders will receive discounts at popular tourist attractions, eateries, shopping centres and selected theme parks, such as Petrosains, the Petronas Twin Towers, Sunway Lagoon and Menara Kuala Lumpur.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said Prasarana's initiative was a smart move that supported the growth of the country's tourism industry.

"The tourism industry is a significant contributor to the national revenue, and this initiative can boost tourist arrivals.

"It also supports the country's aim to promote a more sustainable approach to tourism," he said at the launch of the MyTourist Pass at the RapidKL Festival here.

The festival is a two-day event held at the Raintree Plaza TRX from Nov 9 to 10.

Present were Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Land Public Transport Agency director-general Datuk Azlan Shah Al Bakri, Prasarana chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim and chief executive officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah.

Loke said the initiative aims to encourage more people to use public transport during their time in the city.

"The MyTourist Pass is priced at RM20 for one day, RM30 for two days and RM40 for three days for Malaysians. For foreigners, the pass costs RM40, RM50, and RM60 for one, two and three days, respectively," he said.

"The pass also includes strategic partnerships with more than 30 other companies, including restaurants, providing added benefits."

Jamaludin said RapidKL currently handles more than 1.25 million passenger journeys daily, reflecting public confidence and the importance of public transport in the daily lives of urban residents.

He added that the RapidKL Festival featured exhibitions showcasing the evolution and transformation of public transport under the company, along with initiatives and achievements accomplished over 20 years of service.

"Exhibitions on the Shah Alam LRT line project and MRT public inspections, career opportunity booths, and MyTourist Pass strategic partners are also featured at the festival."
