SHAH ALAM: Digital Minister and incumbent Selangor DAP chairman Gobind Singh Deo is out of the 2024-2027 term committee list.
The Damansara member of parliament only polled 675 votes and did not make it to the top 15, pushing him out of the committee.
Puchong member of parliament Yeo Bee Yin topped the Selangor DAP elections today after gaining 1,180 votes.
When met after the result announcement, Gobind congratulated the new lineup.
He said he is confident the new lineup will steer Selangor in the right direction.
"As far as I'm concerned, I would like to congratulate the new lineup of 15 members who were elected today to the Selangor state committee.
"I would also like to thank all the delegates for placing their trust in me during the last term and, of course, for the committee appointing me as chairman.
"A lot of work has been done, and looking at the list, I'm very confident that this is a strong leadership team that will be able to steer Selangor in the right direction," he said to reporters.
When asked whether he would accept a position if the committee decided to co-opt him, despite not being elected, he said he would not.
"But as I mentioned, even if I'm not co-opted, I will assist in any way I can," he added.
