KUANTAN: Pahang has fully recovered from floods which struck two districts after remaining evacuees were allowed to return home under clear, sunny skies today.
A state Civil Defence Force spokesman said, as of noon today, all the six flood relief centres in Raub and two in Lipis were closed in stages.
"The flood waters have completely receded and the victims returned to clean their homes yesterday evening. The weather has been promising.
"The relief centres in Raub began operating on Sunday (Nov 10) while neighbouring district Lipis was hit by floods yesterday. A total of 441 victims from 127 families in both the districts returned home today," he said, adding the authorities will continue to monitor the situation.
He cautioned villagers living in low-lying areas to be prepared to move in case of further floods.
Raub and Lipis were affected by the northeast monsoon floods in Pahang this time around which lasted for three days, sending 457 victims from 131 families to seek shelter at relief centres.
Last month, Temerloh was affected by the floods which lasted for eight days.
