KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Wan Zaki Wan Muda, the founder of Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad (AZRB), has passed away. He was 74.
Wan Zaki passed away last night and will be buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery later today.
Prior to venturing into business, Wan Zaki served in several state-owned companies in Pahang and Terengganu.
He later set up Ahmad Zaki Sdn Bhd. In 1999, he was appointed as AZRB executive vice-chairman. In 2004, he was redesignated as AZRB executive chairman.
After retirement, he assumed the role of group advisor.
AZRB which is listed on Bursa Malaysia has been involved in several major projects including Jambatan Putra in Kuantan, Pintasan Saloma in KL, Universiti Teknologi Petronas and the Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre in Pahang among others.
Aside from construction and engineering, the group is also involved in oil and gas, property, concessions and plantations.
