KULAI: A 32-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car while attempting to cross a road at Km22 of Jalan Johor Baru-Air Hitam, early this morning (Nov 14).
District police chief Superintendent Tan Seng Lee said preliminary investigations showed that the pedestrian had crossed the road abruptly, which led to the 6am crash.
The car was driven by a 34-year-old woman traveling from Kulai towards Johor Baru.
The victim sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to the Hospital Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim, Kulai, for a post-mortem examination.
The driver was unharmed.
The case is being investigated for reckless driving causing death, under the Road Transport Act 1987.
