PASIR MAS: The Home Ministry aims to forge stronger ties between its 25 agencies and the people, especially those residing in rural areas, through the Santuni Madani - One Leader One Village programme.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, said the programme will also help address problems faced by the people when dealing with the ministry's agencies.
Saifuddin added that the ministry, through the programme, wants to send a clear message that it aims to simplify processes, including eliminating the need for paperwork when people interact with its agencies.
"Our Prime Minister wants all agencies under the Home Ministry to go to the ground and meet the people.
"He wants us to address their problems immediately, without the need for paperwork.
"He also wants this programme to continue, not just temporarily," he said at the closing of the programme at SMK Tanjong Bunga here today.
Present were Prison Department commissioner-general Datuk Nordin Muhamad, Malaysia Control and Border Protection Agency (MCBA) director-general Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali and Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat.
He then announced a RM50,000 allocation for the repair works of a mosque here and for underprivileged children.
"InsyaAllah, the money will be sent to the mosque's fund before the end of the year," he added.
