KAJANG: The investigation into a cartel involved in the distribution and supply of padi fertiliser contracts under a ministry-linked organisation is to be completed within three weeks, said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki today said his officers were finalising the investigation papers.

"I am not certain how many people have been interviewed, but the investigation is ongoing."

He was speaking after the MACC shooting programme with the media in conjunction with the commission's 57th-anniversary celebration.

Present were Media Prima deputy group managing editor Farrah Naz Abd Karim and Media Prima Television Networks news and current affairs group editor Kamaruddin Mape.

It was reported that MACC had uncovered a cartel involved in the distribution and supply of padi fertiliser contracts under the control of a ministry-linked organisation, with the contracts estimated to be worth RM60 million.
