KUALA LUMPUR: Pasir Gudang member of parliament Hassan Abdul Karim, is facing PKR's disciplinary board over his 'public statements' following complaints from the party's central leadership council.
PKR Secretary-General Fuziah Salleh said she had forwarded the complaints to the disciplinary board for investigation.
"There were complaints made by members of MPP (central leadership council) regarding Hassan Karim and his public statements.
"Thus, I have forwarded the complaints to the disciplinary board, so that the matter can be investigated and his grievances can be discussed within internal party mechanism," she said when contacted.
Fuziah however did not disclose whether the disciplinary board had called Hassan in.
"I'm not privy to the information as the board conducts its hearings independently," she said.
Meanwhile, Hassan when contacted by the New Straits Times has declined to comment.
"It would be a good idea to contact the chairman of the disciplinary board," he said briefly.
Several media outlets have reported that Hassan was summoned by the party's disciplinary board over his public criticisms of the government, including the decision to award the rollout of the second 5G network to U Mobile.
Last month, Fuziah had asked Hassan to raise his concerns through internal party channels instead of making public statements.
Earlier this year, Hassan said he was unperturbed if PKR decided to sack or take disciplinary action against him.
The 73-year-old politician said he would not remain silent when things were not right.
He said he speaks up because it is for everyone's benefit.
He said he has nothing to lose since he has no post in the party or government.
