Hajiji calls for enhanced administration in Sabah rural development offices

KOTA KINABALU: The state Rural Development Ministry should enhance the administration process at all district offices in the state.

"The Sabah Rural Development Ministry is an important ministry tasked with transforming rural areas and uplifting the peoples' livelihood," said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor today.

He added that cooperation of all district officers was imperative to ensure that the state government's development agenda could be implemented efficiently.

"State and federal rural development projects must be implemented according to schedule. This also includes awareness programmes for the rural folk," he was quoted as saying after a working visit to the state Rural Development Ministry office in Sembulan near here today.

"Most important, it is the task of the district officers to resolve problems at their respective

districts."

The chief minister also wanted delays in the issuance of allowance for the Village Security and Development Committee to be resolved promptly.

Present were state Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, state Rural Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim, Science, state Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Ariffin Arif, assistant ministers and senior department officers.
