KUANTAN: The Pahang state legislative assembly, which will be broadcast live today, will feature the presence of five appointed assemblymen, increasing the number of representatives from 42 to 47.
The five are Pekan Tengku Ampuan Afzan Maahad Tahfiz founder Datuk Ahmad Irshadi Abdullah Al-Qadri, businessman Datuk Wong Tat Chee, lawyer Haris Salleh Hamzah, Syarie lawyer Mohd Fadzli Mohd Ramly and former banker Rizal Jamin.
They were sworn in during the half-day state assembly sitting on Sept 5 but did not participate in any debates.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail is scheduled to table the state budget for 2025 at Wisma Sri Pahang here at 10am today.
Meanwhile, state assembly speaker Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin said the entire six-day sitting would be broadcast live for the first time on social media.
"Starting today, the public can follow the tabling of the Pahang budget, the question-and-answer session, debates and winding up speech on Facebook.
The public can observe debates and this ensures transparency, and accountability," he said when contacted.
The Pahang state assembly sitting which will be held till Dec 6 will be broadcast live on Dewan Negeri Pahang's Facebook page.
