PASIR MAS: Floodwaters have trapped a family of 30, including two babies and seven children, in Kampung Bakong Dalam, leaving residents in desperate need of rescue.
Jamilah Dollah, 58, said that the water level had already submerged her house by 0.4 metres, while her brother's home was under 0.5 metres of water.
"Please save us," she pleaded.
The sudden flooding has overwhelmed a village not typically prone to such severe conditions.
What started as a shelter for an extended family quickly turned into a life-threatening situation, with residents unable to evacuate.
"This is the worst flood we've experienced," Jamilah said.
Unlike the 2014 flood, which only reached the house steps, the current waters have completely inundated homes.
The family has contacted local fire departments and is anxiously awaiting rescue, especially concerned for the two infants in their group.
Jamilah said that water levels continued to rise, adding urgency to their plight.
As night falls, the family remains trapped, hoping for swift intervention from emergency services.
