KUALA LUMPUR: The number of residents affected by the floods in nine states - Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Perlis, Johor, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Melaka - has increased to 107,734 victims from 32,620 families, as of 10.53pm.
According to information from the Social Welfare Department Disaster Info Portal, Kelantan continues to record the highest number of flood victims with 77,867, involving 24,055 families.
Currently, 270 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened in 10 districts of the state.
In Terengganu, 21,426 flood victims, involving 6,248 families, are seeking shelter at 290 PPS across eight districts, while in Kedah, 50 PPS have been opened in six districts, housing 4,359 flood victims (1,382 families).
In Perlis, four PPS are operating in three districts, housing 488 flood victims, involving 145 families.
In Johor, 119 victims and 34 families are seeking shelter at nine PPS in two districts, while in Perak, a PPS was opened with 20 victims and seven families.
In Negri Sembilan, 2,124 victims (574 families) are seeking shelter at 24 PPS in four districts, while in Selangor, 476 victims (120 families) are currently placed at two PPS.
In Melaka, six PPS have been opened in three districts with 194 victims (55 families) seeking shelter.
Of the total flood victims, 34,664 (32.57 per cent) are adult men, 36,928 (34.7 per cent) are adult women; 16,237 (15.26 per cent) are boys; 15,559 (14.62 per cent) are girls; 1,600 (1.5 per cent) are baby boys; and 1,441 (1.35 per cent) are baby girls.
Additionally, there are 3,638 (3.42 per cent) elderly men; 4,276 (4.02 per cent) elderly women; 2,504 (2.35 per cent) men with disabilities (PWD); and 1,413 (1.33 per cent) women with disabilities.
