KUBANG PASU: Nine roads in Kubang Pasu are still closed to traffic due to floods, while three routes have been reopened.
Kubang Pasu district police chief Superintendent Mohd Redzuan Salleh said several areas in the district were still experiencing flooding.
He said the nine roads remain submerged and would be closed to traffic until floodwaters recede.
The roads are: Jalan Tanah Merah to Wang Tepus; Jalan Jitra to Kampung Kelubi; Jalan Kepala Batas to Bukit Tinggi; Jalan Batu 9 Jitra to Alor Rambai; Jalan Kampung Budi to Kampung Bohor, Jalan Titi Besi to Kampung Pasir (open to heavy vehicles only); Jalan Kepala Batas to Titi Besi (open to heavy vehicles only); southbound from Km 32.1 to Km 33.2 of the North-South Expressway and northbound from Km 33.2 to Km 32.1 of the North-South Expressway.
Meanwhile, routes that have been fully reopened include Jalan Kepala Batas to Bukit Tinggi, Jalan Kelubi Luar to Kampung Malau, and Jalan Jitra to Sungai Korok.
"Motorists are advised to plan their journeys carefully to avoid inconvenience and traffic congestion," Redzuan said.
He also urged the public not to drive through floodwaters with strong currents to ensure safety.
