KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government will take action against those responsible for leaking classified documents, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.
"There have been instances where classified government documents were leaked. This serves as a reminder that all official documents must be handled in accordance with the Official Secrets Act 1972 and Security Order," Hajiji said in a statement after chairing the Chief Minister's Department post-cabinet meeting at Menara Kinabalu today.
He said that it is important to have strict control over government documents to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing records and information.
"All civil service personnel with access to government documents, particularly classified ones, must prioritise document security to prevent information leaks," he added.
Hajiji told civil servants to uphold integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in their work to maintain the government's image and strengthen public trust.
"Civil servants must comply with all laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines set by the government. As the backbone of the state administration, they must adhere to ethical standards and strive to deliver the best service to the people," he said.
