KUALA LUMPUR: Several videos showing a woman allegedly being kidnapped by two men in front of the entrance of a condominium on Jalan Zamrud Utama, Kajang, here yesterday are not true.
Kajang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said his team found a viral video on the TikTok account of 'belladahliadelisha' regarding an incident allegedly showing a kidnapping on Jalan Zamrud Utama.
"Checks found that no police reports have been made by any party related to the incident so far.
"Information also found that there were witnesses who saw the incident and heard one of the individuals involved saying that people should not interfere in their marital affairs before leaving," he said.
Naazron said, however, initial action was taken to trace the vehicle owner and the couple, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident.
"Based on the information obtained so far, the police reject the social media claims that it was a kidnapping incident.
"Anyone with information related to this incident can contact the nearest police station or investigating officer, Inspector Suresh, at 017-4333795 to assist in the investigation," he said.
In the 1.34-minute video, a woman is seen arguing and being pulled by a man whose status is unknown while being calmed by bystanders, including a condominium security guard, as passersby honked their vehicle horns.
Shortly after, the woman was pulled into a car by the man before the vehicle left the location.
