Fewer evacuees as flood conditions improve in Kedah

ALOR STAR: The number of flood evacuees in Kedah continues to decline as weather conditions improve, with 610 people still seeking shelter at temporary flood relief centres (PPS).

An 8am update from the Kedah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat showed that the number of evacuees housed in four PPS across Kota Setar and Kubang Pasu, was down from 645 at midnight.

Kota Setar remains the worst-affected district, with 574 evacuees from 162 families sheltering in three PPS, a slight drop from the 609 recorded earlier.

In Kubang Pasu, the 36 evacuees from 10 families recorded at midnight remain in the SMK Indera Putera PPS.
