More flood evacuees in Kedah return home as situation improves

ALOR STAR: The flood conditions in Kedah continue to improve, with more than 500 evacuees returning home yesterday (Sept 25).

As of 8am today, the Kedah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported the number of remaining flood evacuees at temporary flood relief centres (PPS) has dropped from 2,022 people yesterday evening to 1,477 people.

Of the total, Pendang has the most evacuees with 924 people from 265 families sheltering at 10 PPS, while the situation in the Kota Setar and Pokok Sena districts continued to improve.

The number of evacuees in Kota Setar steadily declined from 957 yesterday evening to 520 people from 159 families this morning, while in Pokok Sena, the number of evacuees declined from 49 yesterday evening to 33 people from 12 families today (Sept 26).
