Pahang palace: Woman's wedding post about Tengku Mahkota is slander

KUANTAN: The Pahang palace has once again dismissed allegations that the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, will be getting married in April next year.

In a statement today, the Comptroller of the Istana Pahang, Major General Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya, condemned an Instagram post by a user named Faridah Daud (faridah.ad_1), who allegedly claimed to be marrying the crown prince.

The post, he said, was defamatory.

"The Instagram post in question shows the user claiming she will marry Tengku Mahkota in April next year, falsely attributing her as his partner. The Pahang palace has previously identified such defamatory posts by this individual," he said.

Zahari urged the public to disregard any statements other than those issued through the official Pahang palace portal, istanapahang.my, or the official social media accounts of the Kesultanan Pahang on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

He also said that strict legal action could be taken against anyone spreading defamatory content or attempting to disrupt public harmony, particularly regarding matters related to the Pahang palace.

On Oct 3, the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page refuted claims circulating in a viral Instagram post that Tengku Hassanal had gotten married.

The post, allegedly by a user identified as Farida.1111111, featured an image of a paper reading: "Istiadat Perkahwinan Diraja antara Tengku Hassanal dan Cik Farida Daud" (Royal Wedding Ceremony between Tengku Hassanal and Miss Farida Daud).

Earlier, on July 11, Tengku Hassanal had posted on his own Instagram stories, asking the public to respect his privacy regarding personal matters such as marriage, and denied rumours that he would be getting married soon.
