KANGAR: All civil servants under the Perlis state government will receive a Special Financial Aid of RM2,000, in line with Initiative 20 of the Perlis Budget 2025.
Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said that civil servants were the backbone of the state's administration and played a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of policies and initiatives.
"I am pleased to announce that as a token of appreciation for their dedication and sacrifices, the state government has agreed to provide Special Financial Aid of RM2,000. This will involve a financial commitment of RM2,834,000 for 1,417 state civil servants, including contract staff," he said while tabling the Perlis State Budget 2025 at the State Assembly Complex today.
The payment will be made in two installments — one this month, and the other in March next year.
To maintain the highest standards of integrity, Shukri said, the state government would strengthen existing programmes and introduce continuous training initiatives.
"The state has allocated RM200,000 for civil servant training, expanding the scope to include character development and skills enhancement. We also support the implementation of the new Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), which aims to provide a more equitable and competitive salary structure," he said.
Under the SSPA, effective Dec 1, civil servants will earn a minimum monthly income of RM2,115.
With an additional expenditure of RM4.3 million required to support the initiative, Shukri expressed hope that all state civil servants would continue to deliver exceptional services to the people of Perlis.
