KUANTAN: Over 400 volunteers including Pahang Social Action Council (MTSP) members have been mobilised to carry out post-flood relief efforts in Tumpat, Kelantan.
Pahang state secretary Datuk Seri Zulkifli Yaacob, in a statement, said the volunteers will assist with the post-flood process at Kampung Sri Bayu, a seaside housing settlement, which was severely affected by the recent floods.
"The Pahang government today deployed a post-flood mission to Kelantan on humanitarian grounds and as a form of social responsibility.
"The team comprises over 400 volunteers from agencies across the state, statutory bodies, state government link companies and MTSP.
"They will focus on cleaning homes and schools affected by the floods, and distribute aid to the community. This initiative aims to speed up the recovery process in the affected areas," he said.
After more than two weeks, the flood situation in Kelantan, which was the worst-hit state, fully recovered on Dec 9.
