Terengganu MB quotes NBA legend on sudden resignation as PN treasurer-general

KOTA BARU: Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar offered a cryptic response when asked to comment on his abrupt resignation as Perikatan Nasional (PN) treasurer-general.

Instead of providing a direct answer, the Terengganu Menteri Besar and Kemaman member of Parliament quoted NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in response to the question.

"I try to do the right thing at the right time. They may be small things, but usually, they make the difference between winning and losing," Ahmad said in a brief response via WhatsApp to the New Straits Times.

Later, in Kuantan, Samsuri declined to comment further on his sudden resignation as PN treasurer-general.

Samsuri, who was met by reporters after attending the East Coast Economic Region Development Council's water distribution pipe handing over ceremony at Gebeng here said a statement will be issued at a suitable time.

"I know what topic (matter) you all want to ask...at this moment, I do not want to issue any statement... wait for the suitable time later," he said briefly to the waiting reporters as he walked towards his official vehicle.

Also present was Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

It is learned that Samsuri was rushing to Kuala Lumpur to attend the last day of the third parliament session in Kuala Lumpur today (Dec 12).

Yesterday, Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, confirmed that the party's vice-president Ahmad Samsuri has tendered his resignation as PN's treasurer-general but declined to comment on the matter.
