Salim reappointed as MCMC chairman

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh has been reappointed as the chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for another two-year term, starting March 1.

MCMC confirmed to the New Straits Times that Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil had officially extended Salim's tenure yesterday.

Salim, who assumed the role on Mar 1 last year had previously served as an MCMC board member and as interim chairman from June to December 2022.

His tenure was as chairman was due to expire on Feb 28.

A shareholder in Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd, Salim also served as a member of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel from April 2022 to March 2024.
