MCMC targets group sharing pics of baju kurung-clad schoolgirls

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) says it will take action against a Facebook group which is sharing pictures of schoolgirls wearing baju kurung uniforms.

In a short reply to an X user who had highlighted the group in disgust and asked for action to be taken against it, the commission said it had taken note of the posting and was already in the process of taking the appropriate action.

"Thank you for your concern. MCMC has taken note and is the process of taking further action," it said.

It is understood that the private FB group has more than 6,100 members

In the original post, the user who flagged the group had asked how it could have existed for three years, asking if the fact that it has more than 6,000 members means that there were more than 6,000 paedophiles.

The user tagged both MCMC and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil in the post.

Many X users who commented on the post also registered their disgust and called for action from MCMC.
