KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the Malam Manifestasi Tiga Seni programme at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) tonight.
Anwar, who arrived at 8pm, was warmly welcomed by some 1,000 attendees.
During the event, he was presented with a special poem, "Air Yang Ku Minum", delivered by National Laureate Datuk Anwar Ridhwan, who is also chairman of the DBP board of directors.
The event featured poetry recitations by other prominent figures, including National Laureates Datuk Dr Zurinah Hassan and Datuk Rahman Shaari.
Zurinah recited "Masihkah Kau Bermain Seruling", while Rahman performed "Dalam Kesopanan Kita".
Anwar, accompanied by his family and grandchildren, also enjoyed a performance by rock legend Datuk Ramli Sarip.
Towards the end of the event, the Prime Minister was presented with a live painting by Suzlee Ibrahim, Dean of the Fine Arts Faculty at the National Academy of Arts, Culture, and Heritage (Aswara).
The artwork, inspired by abstract expressionism, bore the same title as the special poem, "Air Yang Ku Minum", recited earlier by Anwar Ridhwan.
