KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has postponed his meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim due to a fever.
Both leaders were scheduled to meet in Langkawi today to discuss matters related to Asean ahead of Malaysia's chairmanship next year.
"My family and I have arrived in Langkawi to receive a visit from my friend Prabowo, today.
"However, last night he requested to postpone the meeting for a few days due to fever.
"I pray that President Prabowo recovers soon so we can continue with the planned bilateral meeting," he said on a post on Facebook today.
Anwar is also scheduled to meet Thailand's former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra also in Langkawi on Dec 26.
"Insya-Allah on Dec 26, I am also scheduled to meet Thaksin to talk about the Asean agenda for the wellbeing of this region," he added.
On Dec 16, Anwar announced that Thaksin had been appointed a member of the informal advisory group to Malaysia's Asean chairmanship in 2025.
He said Malaysia required statesmen like Thaksin to share expertise and ideas with the Asean chair on regional issues.
