Melaka civil servants to get two financial aids

AYER KEROH: All 5,231 civil servants in Melaka will receive two financial aids.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the first payment of RM1,600 per civil servant would be credited at the end of this month.

He said the second payment, amounting to half a month's salary or at least RM1,000, would be made in February.

"This financial assistance, which costs about RM7 million, is to recognise the contributions of all civil servants in Melaka.

"This year's allocation is more than the previous year.

"I hope this assistance will motivate civil servants to remain committed to supporting the state government's implementation of 2025 plans for the state's development."

He announced this during the tabling of the state's 2025 Budget at the Melaka State Legislative Assembly today.

Ab Rauf said the state government welcomed the federal government's implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) on Dec 1 to improve the quality of public services.

In line with this, he said, the state government would offer the SSPA to 2,631 permanent civil servants under the administration of the Melaka State Secretary's Office.

He said the salary adjustments would also be extended to all categories of civil servants, involving a cost of RM7.5 million next year.

"The state government appreciates the contributions of civil servants in advancing the state's development agenda by providing incentives.

"This includes departmental incentives for winning national and international awards and professional development courses for civil servants locally and abroad."
