KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans have proven to be some of the biggest fans of Media Prima Group merchandise, with record-breaking sales during the Jom Heboh Carnival at the Likas Sports Complex.
Media Prima club chairman Khairuzzaman Mohammad said that the Sabah booth recorded the highest sales among all states where the carnival had been held, amounting to tens of thousands of ringgit.
"This is remarkable as Jom Heboh has toured Malaysia, including Penang, Terengganu, Johor, Melaka, and Putrajaya, but Sabah's sales stand out as the highest.
"Sabahans have clearly been eagerly waiting for Jom Heboh's return, and our booth, featuring premium merchandise from TV3, ntv7, TV9, New Straits Times Press, and our radio stations, was a huge hit.
"We also introduced special and limited-edition items designed exclusively for Sabahans," he said on the final day of the carnival.
Khairuzzaman said that T-shirts were the most popular items, with certain designs selling out on the first day.
"Among the highlights was the 999-themed T-shirt, of which we only brought 100 pieces. Other crowd favourites included Jom Heboh and TV3-themed designs."
By 4pm on the last day, only a small amount of merchandise remained, and the club aimed to sell out entirely by evening.
"With more visitors expected for the night concert, we plan to clear our stock with discounted prices.
"For those who missed out, merchandise will still be available at Balai Berita, and we're exploring the possibility of offering them on our online platform, WowShop, in the future," he added.
