KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued adverse weather updates for the peninsular and eastern parts of Malaysia.
In a Facebook post, the department said that Kedah, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sarawak, and Sabah would experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds. The adverse weather is expected to affect all the states until 7pm today.
The warning is applicable for Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah; Larut, Matang, Selama, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Mualim in Perak; and Raub and Bentong in Pahang.
In Selangor, the challenging weather would also affect three districts: Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat. In Negeri Sembilan, the affected districts are Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, and Rembau. In Johor, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai, and Johor Baru would also face the same challenge.
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, 10 areas were identified to be facing adverse weather: Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah (Tanjung Manis), Kapit (Song and Kapit), and Bintulu (Tatau).
In Sabah, thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds would hit areas such as Sipitang, Tenom, and Nabawan.
