Pahang govt sponsoring lunch for SPM candidates until Feb 6

KUANTAN: The Pahang government is providing free lunch meals for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia candidates until Feb 6.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said meals would be distributed to students across the state except those staying in hostels.

"They will receive the free meals until the examination ends on Feb 6."

This would ensure candidates don't go hungry at examination centres and stay focused on answering the questions, he wrote in a Facebook posting today.

Separately, Pahang Education director Datuk Amzan Abd. Malek said 598 Orang Asli and 134 others with special educational needs are among the 20,401 SPM candidates in the state.

"Four candidates are taking the examination at hospitals. Two are in Kuantan and one each in Jerantut and Pekan," he said after visiting SMK Dong in Raub here today.
