RAUB: Incessant rain on New Year's Day resulted in uprooted trees along the downhill route between Fraser's Hill and the Gap near here.
The road was reopened to traffic before noon yesterday with no untoward incidents reported.
Raub police chief Superintendent Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman said the incident occurred early yesterday, resulting in the road being temporarily cut off.
"The heavy rain yesterday resulted in trees being uprooted from a hill slope. An excavator was used to clear the debris before the stretch was reopened.
"The weather has since improved and the road is now passable to all vehicles," he said when contacted today.
On Jan 3, 2021, a series of landslides triggered by a non-stop downpour at the hill station forced the road going up and down Fraser's Hill to be closed to all traffic.
