KUALA LUMPUR: The high number of health cases which has led to private hospitals, particularly the children's departments being packed to capacity, has raised concerns among parents.
A mother, Aina, recently took to social media to share her struggle to seek treatment for her son who had Influenza A.
Aina said she called four hospitals but all were full to the brim.
"Influenza is on the loose. Mask up in crowded places and those who are sick please wear your masks outside.
"If there's symptoms, please test yourself. May Allah ease everything for you.
"I called all the insurance's panel hospitals. Most of them are full," she said.
Responding to her Tweet was Afif, who shared a picture of his son at a hospital, waiting for a bed.
The father said he had been trying to find a hospital since 8.30pm and they are already at their third hospital.
"It's already 1.20am, but we are still waiting for room," he added.
Another Twitter user, Atikah Ismail said her daughter had high fever with her temperature reaching 40 degrees for three days in a row.
However, she had to treat her daughter at home because they could not find a hospital that was not full.
"My daughter wasn't feeling good a week ago, her temperature was 40 degrees for three days. I called a few hospitals, but it was mostly full… went to another, it was full as well.
"I was asked to go back and monitor my daughter at home. She was treated in the emergency department.
"Luckily, her temperature went down the next day," she said.
