#NSTviral: Netizens troll PH MPs for singing 'Setia' for Merdeka [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Members of parliament from Pakatan Harapan (PH) show their patriotic side by performing the song 'Setia', in a video production in conjunction with the 66th Merdeka Day celebrations.

Among those who made an appearance in the video that was posted on Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman's X page were Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Ramkarpal Singh.

Deputy Finance Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong even recited a few lines of pantun before the chorus.

However, the effort was met with a mixed response.

One X user, @Ooi Beng Cheang said he prefers to listen to Sim reciting the pantun.

"When singing, he sounds a bit cringe," he said.

Another X user, @amuse_gueule suggested the singers use autotune next time.

X user @amiraimanr said: "Sorry YB but this sounds bad".

The video, now viral, has garnered close to 500,000 views so far.
