KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian born, Sherman Tan earned a golden buzzer in the Lithuania's Got Talent show recently from one of the judges, singer and actress Inga Jankauskaite.
The golden buzzer indicates that the 51-year-old musician has secured a direct path to the show's final, scheduled to be broadcast in December.
Tan easily won the hearts of the audience and the judges, earning a standing ovation for his performance of 'Iris', a song by the American rock band Goo Goo Dolls, on the show which aired on Sept 10.
Lithuania's Got Talent is not his first appearance in a singing competition, as he was also a finalist in a European TV singing competition in 2019.
Among the other judges were TV host and performer Marijonas Mikutavicius and TV host Justinas Jankevicius.
He posted a video on Facebook that has garnered over 8,000 views so far, with internet users lauding his achievements.
Among the praise he got were from @Prem Raj said "wow.. just saw the whole thing. Goosebumps brother… Keep up the great work. I have always been a big fan of you and your voice."
Facebook user @Hadi Merengey congratulated him saying "congratulations Sherman Tan, Malaysia boleh!"
