KUALA LUMPUR: A recent video capturing antics of some visitors at the TRX Mall outdoor playground 'waterpark' has gone viral on social media platform.
The video showcases a large number of families utilising the playground's water attractions, creating an environment reminiscent of a waterpark.
Shared on platform X by user @facktura, the post has garnered around 2.2 million views, unveiling a scenario where parents and children inundate the widely-visited outdoor play area with water.
While some children can be seen gleefully enjoying the water-filled playground, the majority of netizens expressed outrage and disappointment in the comments section.
Many criticised the parents for their apparent lack of common sense and responsible behaviour.
"This is why it doesn't matter how first-class a facility is when there are still people with third-class mentalities. The security should have done their job and disallowed this," said user @lyn_s09.
Another X user @duerre_pink commented: "It's all about common sense and etiquette, whether one belongs to the B40, M40, or T20 group.
"Everyone should possess these qualities. Consider it logically, does such behaviour appear respectful?" the user added.
However, amidst the growing criticism, user @sueannajoe_ claimed to have contacted the TRX Mall management directly regarding the issue.
According to her, the management clarified that children playing with water in the playground is allowed and is, in fact, part of their sensory water play area.
The management allegedly stated that they specifically designed that section of the playground for water play.
Checks by New Straits Times on the TRX official website also reveal that there is a water play area listed at the TRX City Park.
