#NSTviral: Man claims ownership of river in Muar, prevents others from fishing [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A man has stirred controversy by claiming ownership of a river in Muar, Johor and prohibiting others from fishing there.

A video, shared on the TikTok platform by user Azrol Saad, featured the man confronting individuals fishing on a boat and asserting his authority over the river.

"You tell me, I've seen you many times. Why are you entering my village? I want to ask you, are you from Johor or Negri Sembilan? You're from Palong.

"Now, my father owned this river in our village, from the time of 'Tok Bangau.' Do you know who 'Tok Bangau' is?" questioned the man.

In the ensuing minor altercation, the targeted individuals defended their right to fish in the area, stating that the river belongs to everyone.

They also clarified that no poison or harmful substances were used during their fishing activities, expressing bewilderment at the man's actions.

"This river isn't yours. Right now, I'm fishing. I'm not using poison or toxins."
