KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said he will not compromise when it comes to senior officers or supervisors who fail to manage their subordinates correctly.
He insisted that these officers, particularly officers in charge of police districts (OCPDs) must step it up when it comes to leading their entire teams under their respective jurisdictions.
He also did not mince his words when he told all supervisors in the police force to create a conducive work environment based on intergrity.
"We must 'beli jiwa mereka' (capture their hearts) either by inculcating religious elements, or by motivating them to work together towards integrity.
"All you district police chiefs, please do not merely sit on your plush seats and wait for your superiors to send financial aid and assistance, I do not want to hear of such things any more.
"If there are any more of such instances, situations and scenarios, then leave. Be it senior officers, district heads. Just leave.
"What we can see here, what Datuk DIGP (Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay) has said is that the fault lies with the penyelia (supervisors). That is is correct. It is the fault of the supervisors because the DIGP did not say the fault lies with the districts, he said the fault lies with the supervisors.'
Razarudin was speaking at a special meeting with the force's top brass, senior officers and officers in charge of police districts (OCPDs) nationwide at Dewan Ahmad Shah, Maktab PDRM in Cheras here.
He did not mince his words when he addressed them, and he warned them to buck up.
He said both Ayob and him are supervisors of the police force, and if Ayob said the fault lies with the supervisors, then all of those sitting in front of him in the audience were responsible for this.
"It's not to say those there (while pointing to his right) are in the wrong, here (pointing to himself) is also wrong. There (pointing to his left) is also wrong. All the supervisors.
"All you 'tuan-tuan' and Datuk-Datuk KP (police chiefs) might say, 'This IGP is very cunning. He is one to talk about supervisors'. But when Datuk Seri (Ayob Khan) talks about supervisors, I am also a supervisor. Yes.
"Together with Datuk DIGP (Ayob Khan), we are the highest-level of supervisors, you know.
"This is why when I speak, the message is for myself to digest as well, you know," said Razarudin.
