KUALA LUMPUR: Students of a Chinese national-type primary school (SJKC) school have gone viral with a spontaneous rendition of "Negaraku" upon witnessing badminton star Lee Zii Jia secure a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The video, captured by X user @hewyk, garnered over 140,000 views and 4,000 likes.
The 21-second video showcases the students gathered in what looks like the school's hall, filling it with a unified chorus of the Malaysian national anthem as Lee Zii Jia clinched the decisive point.
"I was walking by the Chung Hwa school near my place, and they were watching #leeziijia live.
"When he clinched the bronze, they spontaneously burst out in #NegaraKu #Paris2024 #Badminton bangga!" the caption video stated, encapsulating the joy and pride felt by those present.
